Managing your account
Last updated: 2026-06-30
Your account at a glance
Your Synapse Chat account is tied to your verified identity. It carries the profile your colleagues see: typically your name, clinical role, specialty, and where you practise, so people can find and recognise you in the verified directory.
Keeping your profile current
Keep your profile details accurate so colleagues can reach the right person. If your role, specialty, or workplace changes, update your profile to reflect it.
Keeping your account secure
Your account represents you inside a trusted clinical network, so protecting access matters:
- Keep control of the device and number associated with your account.
- Do not share access with anyone. Verification is per person, and sponsored members are individually accountable.
- If you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else, contact us straight away at support@synapsechat.app.
Closing your account
You can close your Synapse Chat account at any time. To request closure, contact us at support@synapsechat.app and we will action it.
What happens to your data when you leave
When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period. Some records may be retained where we are required to keep them by law, or to meet legitimate obligations such as audit, dispute resolution, or legal hold: consistent with our key-custody approach described in Encryption and key custody.
For the full detail of how we collect, use, retain, and delete your information, and your rights to access and correct it, see our Privacy Policy and Terms.
